Who Are We

The Escambia-Pensacola Human Relations Commission, formally established in 1974 by the Escambia Board of County Commissioners and the Pensacola City Council, was created to promote fair treatment and equal opportunity for all Escambia County citizens regardless of race or color, sex (gender), religion, age, national origin or disability.

In fulfilling its mandate the Human Relations Commission, composed of nine persons: 8 chosen by the City Council and County Commissioners and one (1) by the Commission on an alternating selection basis, has directed its energies toward providing Escambia County with an efficient, responsive, and readily-available information service and complaint processing center.
