Dr. Calvin Avant - Executive Director

Dr. Calvin Avant is a native of Pensacola, Florida and is a product of the Escambia County Public School System. Dr. Avant is a veteran of the U. S. Navy. His academic accomplishments are a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of West Florida, Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University and a PhD in Ministry of Psychology from Faith Bible Theological Seminary. Dr. Avant left Pensacola and relocated to the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 1979. He resided in the Washington, DC area until 1995. In 1995 Dr. Avant and his wife Jolene and daughter Amy relocated to Brevard County, Florida (Space Coast).  In 2001, Dr. Avant’s wife, Jolene passed suddenly of an aneurism and Dr. Avant then returned to his home in Pensacola.

Dr. Avant has owned and operated a training firm for the past 14 years, he is a Certified State of Florida School Teacher, Certified After Care Specialist, Certified Parent Instructor, Licensed Addiction Counselor, a State Endorse for Prison Ministry Training, and a National Validator for Before and After Schools Programs. Dr.
Avant has authored several books such as “So You Are Raising a Knucklehead”, “Reinvent Yourself with Dr. Calvin Avant”, “Better Way Substance Abuse Training Manual” and “Steps to Evangelizing a Dieing World”.  Dr. Avant is the Founder and Pastor of Unity In the Family Ministry located here in Pensacola, Florida
